The Martingale betting system is one of the most well known betting systems out there. If you think you haven't heard of it, you probably have, but not by its name.
The Martingale betting system works best with games that have close to even odds of winning. That makes Blackjack and Roulette as good options out of what's available in most land based and online casinos.
The Martingale betting system works by beginning with a small bet. If you win, you make the same bet again. If you lose, you simply double your bet on the next round. Continue the pattern in the same manner until you win, at which point you've regained your losses and added your first bet to your bankroll.
While it may seem like a perfect betting system, it has a major problem with table limits and losing streaks. A losing streak of 5 consecutive losses will cause you to hit the table limit in a $10min/$200max table. Even if the table limit was $500, all it would take was one more loss, as the numbers become increasingly high after such a losing streak.
These obstacles make the Martingale betting system one of the least profitable betting systems. If you have a losing streak, it could cause serious loss. However, if you're lucky, it will work.
The problem is that if you factor luck back into the equation, the whole concept of a betting system breaks down.
Overall, it's better to try some of the other betting systems. They work in a similar way but they fight the casino's table limits by breaking down the numbers into more turns, making them far less vulnerable to table limits. |
